Match: Barcelona vs Real Madrid
Final Score: 1-1 (Ronnie)
Lineup: Iker, Sergio, Cicinho, Bravo, Carlos, Guti, Becks, Zizou, Baptista, Robinho, Ronnie
Subs: Mejia for Robinho, Gravesen for Zizou & Pablo for Guti
What a match~ What an atmosphere~ It's awesome~ It's even awesome even when the referee gave a penalty~ It's even MORE awesome when he gave a red card to Roberto~ A.W.E.S.O.M.E!!!
Anyway, i tot roberto was childish-like, he shouldn't fuss up too much. But the ref was too strict. We got 6 yellows (Mejia, Ronnie, Becks, Guti, Baptista, Carlos) and 1 red (carlos @ 24th min).
Each player is wonderful tonight. Ronnie scored the most impt goal tt helped us drew. Baptista assisted this goal. Becks & Guti defended :) Bravo n Mejia put in their best~ Cicinho was great!! Sergio was good~!! Last but not least, iker was Superb!!! Really, he saved our asses and his performance deserved a big kiss from... me.. nope of cos... from our Mr Beckham *insert mushy things* hahaha.. I'm really happy that was played as a team, u haf to rem tt carlos was red carded at 24th min, tt left us only 10 men til the end of 90th min. Although Barce attacked us so many times, but the final line of defence was so splendid~ (IKER XD) he did tremendously well. :)
Iker, you deserved my MOM ^_^

"It's win or win this Saturday"
Mar. 30th, 2006 | 07:42 am
For the fans, for the players, who want to get even after the Bernabéu match, and to secure the second position in the charts. Among others, these are the three motives that compel Iker Casillas to finish the game at the Camp Nou having pocketed the three points. Both him and the remainder of the squad are dying to win.
What did you think of the Benfica-Barcelona match?
Barcelona absolutely dominated Benfica. They had a lot of very clear scoring chances. Barcelona proved it's a great team and that they're a serious candidate to win the Champions League. Benfica's goalkeeper did a really good job. It's 0-0 and I don't think they'll have any problems winning at home. But what I'm really interested in is in winning on Saturday. Fatigue can be a factor when a team plays Wednesday and Saturday, but I think they are quite used to it.
Saturday can help to clear things up, whether positively or negatively for Real Madrid.
We're realistic. Our goal is to win at the Camp Nou to distance ourselves from the teams which are fighting for the second position. So, it's a question of win or win this Saturday. If they defeat us, they will almost certainly be League champions.
Would a win there make up for the season?
Not at all. We want to win for us and to pocket the three points.
Do you also want Barcelona to lose always?
I'm a Madridista since I was a little kid. I wish them all the best, but it's obvious I want them to lose. I have friends there so I respect the club. It's a very healthy rivalry.
Do you think their supporters might stand up and give you an ovation if you play a great game?
I don't know. We'll have to wait and see. Nobody applauded us during the Champions League encounter four years ago. If we play well, then great, but if we don't and we win, that's also great.
Against Deportivo you proved that when there's a will there's a way.
We've had good and poor games. Now you think of the points you lost at home. League championships have to do with regularity. When you play a game, it's always the player that is judged and not the person. Many things are taken into account when you play a team sport.
Logically, the same starting eleven as Deportivo will feature in Barcelona... and that means no Raúl.
Competition for a position is a good thing, but the coach has the final decision. I'm sure that whoever features will be extremely motivated.
Eto'o is always very motivated against Real Madrid.
He's really progressed as a player. I understand him. His style of play really suits Barcelona, since they play really fast. Both him and Ronaldinho are in top form at the moment; it's something that's easy to see on TV. I'm not bothered by the fact that he always scores against me as it doesn't affect me that Torres never does.
How should you play against Barcelona, on equal terms or somewhat more defensively?
I like the team that plays every one of our games.
Are you thirsting for revenge?
It could be a revenge, because we are hurt after the 3-0 at home and the impression we left on the fans. But then you realise it's just another game.
There's two teams, but maybe no referee.
I respect the referees' position. They have the right to demand their pay. Talking things through normally solves them.
Has the ad you did with Ronaldinho improved your relationship with him?
Our relationship has always been good. Outside the pitch we almost never talk football.
What do you think of Figo's declarations about Real Madrid?
I respect all opinions, so there's little I can add. But we have to look ahead. The past lies behind us.

Thursday's Training Session
Casillas Only Player Missing
Not even ten hours after returning from Zaragoza, Real Madrid held their first of three training sessions prior to this weekend's Deportivo clash. The only player missing was Casillas, who's recovering from a blow to his left leg. The starting eleven from last night's match at La Romareda did some recovery exercises while the rest of the squad fine tuned their aim and scrimmaged. Raúl Bravo was the only player to train in solitary while Pablo García rejoined his teammates.
Casillas was the Only Player Missing
Real Madrid's starting goalkeeper received a hard blow to his left leg in the final minutes of Sunday's match while jumping against several Zaragoza players. He was able to finish the match, but several hours later the wounded area was inflamed. Therefore, he decided to have the physiotherapists take a look at his leg today and in all likelihood will be ready for the next League match.
MEDICAL REPORT:
Raúl Bravo: Right abductor muscle strain. Medical and physiotherapeutic treatment. Gym work.
Pablo García:Mild sprain of the internal lateral ligament of the left knee. Imminent return to the team.
Jonathan Woodgate:Left legsoleus strain. Imminent return to the team.
Miñambres: Mild left knee sprain.
Casillas: Contusion of the left leg's front tibia muscle. Medical and physiotherapeutic treatment. Gym work.

Fabregas flattered by Real interest, focused on Arsenal
Mar. 9th, 2006 | 08:43 am
Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas says he is flattered by reports of Real Madrid's interest in signing him but he will not let it distract him from next week's Champions League clash against the Spaniards.
"It's a source of pride and happiness for me that a team like Real Madrid are interested in me," the 18-year-old Spaniard told sports daily Marca on Saturday.
"I know that a lot of people are talking about it but no one has approached me. However, it's always nice that people talk about you in this way."
The former Barcelona youth team player was outstanding in Arsenal's 1-0 win over Real in the first leg of their Champions League knockout tie at the Bernabeu and turned in an impressive performance when he made his debut for Spain in their 3-2 victory over Ivory Coast on Wednesday.
"A lot of things have happened to me in the past few weeks and they've all been good," he said. "But all that matters at the moment is Arsenal and there will be time to talk about everything else in the future."
"Real are our rivals and I hope we can beat them, but I can't deny that they are a great team with some great players."
Fabregas said that although he was happy at Arsenal he was keen to return to Spain in the future.
"It (returning to Spain) is something I've always had in my head because although I'm happy here (in England) it isn't my country and you always miss your own one."
"I don't know what will happen, but if it doesn't happen next season it will happen in another because I want to play in the Spanish league one day."

Roberto Carlos hits out against hard-line Real regime
Mar. 9th, 2006 | 08:42 am
Real Madrid full back Roberto Carlos has defended himself and his team mates against criticism about their attitude from out-going president Florentino Perez and his successor Fernando Martin.
"I've been at this club 10 years and they have treated me very well but I haven't been spoiled," the 32-year-old Brazilian international told Antena 3 television on Friday.
Perez said his decision to resign was because some of the club's big name players, the "Galacticos", had become spoiled. Martin has criticised a lack of team spirit and commitment among some members of the squad.
Martin cracked the whip at his first news conference as president on Thursday, saying he was setting up an independent commission to assess the attitude of all squad members. He made it clear that anyone who did not come up to scratch would be discarded.
But Roberto Carlos said the new president, who has been given the backing of the rest of the board, was taking the wrong approach.
"For the players it would be better if the president did not speak so strongly," he said. "We play in the best club in the world, we are players who have a high-profile image and we make a lot of money for the club. I think I deserve what I earn."
"If they (the commission) want to follow me they will get very tired. I lead a normal life, I'm young and intelligent and am keen to have a good image. But we have to have our freedom because we are human beings."
The main target of criticism from fans and Spanish media has been Roberto Carlos's Brazilian team mate Ronaldo.
The striker has come under fire for failing to live up to expectations this season and he has responded by hinting that he might leave the club.
Ronaldo was left out of the squad for Saturday's city derby against Atletico Madrid for "technical reasons", but it was not clear if this was to spare him the ire of the home crowd, to rest him before Wednesday's decisive Champions League match against Arsenal, or as a punishment.

Casillas: Real Madrid doesn't rely on Ronaldo
Mar. 9th, 2006 | 08:41 am
Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas insists they do not rely on Ronaldo for their success.
The Brazilian's future could be tied to tomorrow night's game against Arsenal as doubts persist over whether coach Juan Roman Lopez Caro will play him from the start.
For his part, Casillas says: "I understand the work of the press, but we must win with or without Ronaldo, with or without Iker, with or without Pav... The squad is very strong."
"Controversy can be created, and I understand this. But in the derby we won 2-1. This is Madrid and, if one does not play there are others who can. The other day Cassano played and scored."
"There is nobody who is essential here. Real Madrid is bigger than any player, trainer, or president."

It's claimed by Onda Cero that Guti confronted Ronaldo about his below-par performance against the Gunners and the pair came to blows before being separated by teammates.
A strike from Ronaldo to Guti's leg is said to have forced him from the match against Mallorca and last week's international against Ivory Coast.

Ronaldo back in Real squad for Arsenal clash
Mar. 9th, 2006 | 08:38 am
Real Madrid striker Ronaldo has been recalled for Wednesday's Champions League match against Arsenal after being dropped against Atletico Madrid at the weekend.
The three-times winner of the World Player of the Year award has come under fire for failing to live up to his billing in recent matches.
The Brazilian was also accused of putting his own interests before those of the team after making a thinly veiled threat on the eve of Real's 1-0 defeat at home to Arsenal in the first leg.
The 29-year-old said he was reconsidering his future at the club because of the criticism he has received from Real Madrid fans.
He was dropped after last week's 2-1 defeat at Real Mallorca and replaced by Antonio Cassano against Atletico.
The Italy striker, who joined Real in January from AS Roma, scored Real's opening goal in their 2-1 victory at the Bernabeu - earning praise from fans and the media for his lively performance in attack.
Real's new president Fernando Martin, who took charge of the club following the shock resignation of former chief Florentino Perez last week, has pledged to take a hard line against the club's under-performing Galacticos.
Ronaldo, who has played just one Champions League match this season because of suspension and injury, scored a hat-trick for Real in their 4-3 defeat at Manchester United the last time he played for the club on English soil.
Playmaker Zinedine Zidane and defender Ivan Helguera were also included in the squad despite picking up minor knocks in the Atletico game.

New Real Madrid president Fernando Martin is backing predecessor Florentino Perez's plan to bring Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas back to Spain.
Martin told a Spanish radio station he sees ex- Barcelona kid Fabregas, 18, as the ideal man to start his rebuilding programme at the club.
And Real, who visit Highbury on Wednesday, may turn it into a double swoop by also bidding for Gunners left-back Ashley Cole, 25.
